Summer Camp
Every year the Groningen Confucius Institute (GCI) organizes a 2-week Summer Camp in cooperation with the Fudan University (Shanghai).
Note: Groningen Confucius Institute is planning to organize a Summer Camp in 2026. Whether the camp will take place will be confirmed around March 31.

We would like to invite our non-Chinese students to join this programme. Applicants should have studied Chinese at GCI for at least one semester and have obtained an HSK certificate (or expect to obtain one before the trip begins). Applicants should also not have previously participated in a visit to China organized by Center for Language Education and Cooperation (CLEC) in the past 3 years . Since the program is designed for college students, priority will be given to applicants aged 18–35.
During this trip, you will visit the two vibrant cities of Shanghai and Hangzhou, experiencing a unique blend of traditional culture and modern urban life. You will explore historic sites, classical gardens, modern architecture, and enjoy various cultural activities. In addition, you will have free Chinese language classes and opportunities to practice your Chinese by communicating with students from the Fudan University and interacting with local people during the trip.

The purpose of the Summer Camp is to learn Chinese and experience Chinese culture in China. During this camp you will take part in Chinese language lessons, cultural tours and exchange ideas with teachers and students from China.
The costs of your study and stay will be covered by this programme, while the international flights and visa application fee will be paid by yourselves. A deposit of €150 is required by the registration, which will be refunded after the trip. Your deposit is non-refundable if you decide to withdraw from the Summer Camp after the registration deadline.
